Willard Band News 04.07.13

April 7, 2013

Good morning everyone,

I just wanted to send out a HUGE thank you to all of the students, staff, parents, and adults that volunteered yesterday in hosting the MCCGA Guard Championships at the high school. We continue to receive countless compliments on our “hosting abilities” and how well things go with this event year in and year out. It is never a given that we will host this event each year BUT we definitely prove that we are worthy of it.

Please help me in congratulating the middle school winter guard on their 4th place finish in the middle school division and a HUGE congratulations to the high school guard for taking the 1st place Gold Medal in the Scholastic B division. THIS IS A FIRST FOR WILLARD HIGH SCHOOL!

We have all been very blessed with an incredible band program. This year alone we have enjoyed a tremendous marching season, 4 incredible jazz ensembles at both HS and MS, an unprecedented winter guard season, and the concert bands are now ready for their prospective festivals. The middle school bands go to Neveda this coming Saturday and the high school bands attend the MSHSAA State Large Ensemble Festival (held at WHS) on April 17 and 18th. The HS/MS Spring Concert is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd.

WE WILL NEED MANY, MANY PARENTS to assist us with our Ford Drive 4UR School Fundraiser this coming Saturday, April 13, from 9-4. In the simplest terms possible here it is….Republic Ford is bringing approximately 15 vehicles to WHS for test drives. There are NO salesmen coming. We need 1 adult to ride in each vehicle as it is being test driven. For every vehicle that leaves the parking lot we receive money. We are hoping for 300 test drives and we would then be payed by Ford Motor Company up to $6,000. We are allowed one test dirve per household. THIS CAN BE ONE OF THE EASIEST MONEY MAKERS WE COULD EVER DO BUT WE MUST HAVE ADULT VOLUNTEERS.

We will be emailing out an online “sign-up” form on Monday. We NEED YOUR HELP in this project. Between yesterday and next Saturday these funds can go a long way in helping our band program. I thank you for your continued support.
