April 18, 2014

Please take a moment and (if you are a student) FEEL GREAT ABOUT YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS and if you are a parent/family member BE VERY PROUD OF YOUR BAND STUDENT. Over the past 6 days the Willard Band Program has seen the Seventh Grade Band earn an Honor I Rating…the Eighth Grade Band earn an Honor I Rating…the HS Concert Band earn a State Level Honor I Rating…the HS Symphonic Band earn a State Level Honor I Rating…and the HS Wind Symphony earn (for a 32nd straight year) a State Level Honor I Rating. YEAH BABY AND GO BAND!!!! The 7th grade and Wind Symphony also earned Straight I Ratings from all judges.

On Tuesday evening, April 22, 7:00 pm in the HS Main Gym we will be showcasing all five of these ensembles in our Annual Spring Concert. We ask, again, that the MS students dress up AND plan on staying for the entire concert. HS students will be in their uniforms (bring a change of clothes) and will check-in their uniforms after the concert. WE HOPE TO PACK IN THE HOUSE AND HEAR SOME INCREDIBLE MUSIC BEING MADE!!!!!!

Booster Meeting Update/Help needed

February 16, 2014

The next BAND BOOSTER MEETING will be held on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 7 pm in the high school band room. We need as many in attendance so we may make final plans and arrangements for our program to serve as hosts again for the Mid Continent Color Guard Association Championships in March. This has turned into the largest single fund raiser our booster club does and we NEED HELP FROM ADULTS AND STUDENTS ALIKE. We hope to see you on the 24th.

We are also in need of one, two, or multiple adults to assist in putting together our 2013-2014 BAND VIDEO. We already have a lot of pictures and video footage but we need several adults who like to photoshop and create movies to assist us in the project. We already have a lot of the equipment needed. If you are interested please contact Claire Kauffmann at

Our high school and middle school jazz bands are performing very well right now as are the high school and middle school winter guards. More information will be following soon.

We thank you for your continued support of our band program.
